FC Barcelona to Host Historic Game at Partially Completed Camp Nou this Saturday
The club confirmed their first game will take place at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou over the weekend. They will welcome Athletic Bilbao in La Liga 30 months after they moved out so building work could begin.
“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Not all seats will be available but 45,401 spectators can be present as per the current authorization. After final construction, the Camp Nou is due to hold almost 105,000 spectators, increasing from the former 99,000. Officials confirmed completed upgrades featured a new players’ tunnel and new dressing rooms.
Stadium Testing
The club conducted a public practice inside the stadium in early November. The club said they are seeking authorization by UEFA to host the next European match against Eintracht Frankfurt in December at the stadium. Previous fixtures took place at the Olympic Stadium.
