Anthony Joshua Discharged from Medical Facility in Nigeria Following Deadly Road Accident
Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, officials in Lagos announced on Wednesday evening. The athlete was caught in a vehicular crash in the Lagos area on Monday, a devastating event that resulted in the deaths of two of his team members.
Healing from Light Wounds
The boxer had remained in the hospital while recovering from minor injuries, representatives had said on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update on social media that Joshua was judged healthy enough to continue his recovery at home.
“Anthony and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two departed friends as they were being made ready for the journey back,” the commissioner stated.
Honoring the Deceased
Those who lost their lives were identified as Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. The official further stated that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and full of emotions over the loss of his two close friends.”
